The Ophthalmology Practice secures the Haag-Streit Eyestar 900 - featuring swept-source OCT technology that provides precise measurements of the entire eye, from the cornea to the retina and imaging of the anterior chamber, proven by studies.

Swept-source OCT data is used for cataract surgery, and the Eyestar 900's measurements includes anterior and posterior corneal topography, dual zone precision keratometry, pachymetry, and lens tilt analysis. All these can be done quickly due to the design of the system that moves the internal measuring head and tracks movement, providing our patients with maximum comfort.
The Eyestar 900 can also provide axial length measurements - providing an essential data-point in managing myopia progression in children, allowing us to chart the eyeball lengh which typically gets longer as myopia increases.
Radial 'slices' of the anterior chamber done in an non-invasive manner allow us to observe the structures as well as the angle where the iris meets the back of the cornea - associated with ocular hypertension and angle-closure glaucoma (an emergency).
